CABALLIS is an Irish start-up aiming to use simple, science-based solutions to improve the health, well-being and performance of horses. It has previously won multiple awards including the Veterinary Council of Ireland award at the 2016 BT Young Scientist for the Caballis Equi-Feeder, its debut product.
Caballis has just launched its new website, which will act as a platform to optimise competitive performance of horses. It can analyse the training needs of horses, recommend a bespoke training programme, and then analyse its results.
Using individual details of a horse and their competition schedule, Caballis will generate a training plan to ensure the horse reaches peak performance precisely when it matters – competition day.
Caballis recognises the horse’s muscle mass and distribution using image recognition technology, and compares the animal to their database of 20,000 other animals. The outcome is a bespoke training programme, oriented around the horse’s competitive event schedule, which addresses individual weaknesses and optimises strength and stamina.
Trainers can also track their progress, so that the program continues to become more and more individualised and effective.
VISIT THEM AT DUBLIN
Readers can see this technology when Caballis is launched at the Dublin Horse Show. Event rider and Instagrammer Chloe Loane will be available on the Saturday for a meet and greet at the Caballis stand (stand L1 in Hall 4).
Having used the website herself, Chloe says: “In my eyes, this is leading the field in preventing injury in performance horses and maximising potential on the all-important competition day. It’s revolutionary and innovative, but most of user friendly. This is a game changer for riders.”
