BOYLESPORTS are going to donate any profits made from today’s Virtual Grand National to the Mater Hospital Foundation.

They were the latest bookmaker in Britain and Ireland to announce that they will be donating their profits to health-related causes, with the National Health Service in Britain one of the biggest beneficiaries.

Sadly the Grand National is not taking place today but some form of consolation is provided by the Virtual Grand National which is set to be broadcast on ITV1 and UTV at 5pm, and for which Tiger Roll has been made 5/1 favourite with BoyleSports.

The Virtual Grand National is a computer-simulated running of the world famous steeplechase, designed by Inspired Entertainment, who specialise as a platform for virtual sports for gaming, betting and lottery operators.

How the race develops and the eventual result will be derived from mathematical algorithms taken from horses’ previous performances, with the age, weight and form all taken into account. Data from all 40 runners, who were viewed as the most likely to take part, has been added and the computer has generated odds.

What’s more, the three previous Virtual Grand National simulations have proven to be very accurate. Rathvinden ‘won’ the virtual race last season before finishing third in real life, Tiger Roll was the virtual and actual winner in 2018, while Cause Of Causes won the simulated version in 2017 before finishing second in real life.
