ANOTHER 2YO GROUP 1 WINNER FOR FASTNET ROCK
Coolmore Stud's Australian champion sire Fastnet Rock (by Danehill), sire of 25 Group/Grade 1 winners including last year's Irish-trained trio Fascinating Rock, Diamondsandrubies and Qualify, got his second European juvenile Group 1 star of the year when Rivet took the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster on Saturday.
The William Haggas-trained colt was bred by Des Scott, he won the Group 2 Champagne Stakes at the same venue last month and, like Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes heroine Intricately, he is out of a daughter of Galileo (by Sadler's Wells).
Starship was a miler, she is the dam of the Group 3 Gallinule Stakes winner Alexander Pope and she is a half-sister to the juvenile sprint star and champion Superstar Leo (by College Chapel).
This is the family of the mile classic stars Footstepsinthesand (by Giant's Causeway) and Power (by Oasis Dream) and of juvenile Group 1 scorer Pedro The Great (by Henrythenavigator), who first crop are yearlings, and although Rivet looks likely to stay 10 furlongs, it is possible that the Derby trip may be beyond him.

NEW GROUP 1 WINNER FOR DUKE OF MARMALADE
Multiple Group 1 star Duke Of Marmalade (by Danehill), who began his career at Coolmore Stud, added another Group 1 winner to his tally when Sound Of Freedom won the Premio Lydia Tesio over 10 furlongs at Capannelle on Sunday.
The Stefano Botti-trained four-year-old was bred by Razza Del Velino Srl and she is out of Paint In Green (by Invincible Spirit), which makes her a full-sister to mile listed scorer Collateral Risk and half-sister to the nine-furlong listed winner Drive To Hell (by Manduro).
Her dam is a half-sister to the Group 3 Brownstown Stakes winner Marvada (by Elusive City) and out of Theory Of Law (by Generous), a half-sister to the Group 1 Prix Morny star Charges D'Affaires (by Kendor).
Duke Of Marmalade, who was represented in 2015 by the Group 1 classic stars Simple Verse, Nutan and Star Of Seville, is now a member of the team of at Drakenstein Stud in South Africa.
His Derby-winning half-brother Ruler Of The World (by Galileo) stands at Coolmore and a small selection of that star's first crop are catalogued for the Goffs, Fairyhouse and Newmarket foal sales.

BLACKTYPE DOUBLE FOR POWER
Coolmore Stud's classic star and freshman sire Power (by Oasis Dream) recorded a blacktype double at Newbury on Saturday, taking his global tally of stakes winners to five.
Cristal Fizz maintained her unbeaten record with victory in the Listed JLT Stakes (registered as the Radley Stakes) over seven furlongs, and as the William Haggas-trained chesnut is out of 10-furlong scorer Effervesce (by Galileo) she looks likely to stay a mile next season.
That mare is a half-sister to the pattern-winning sprinter Hitchens (by Acclamation) and comes from the family of middle-distance Group 1 stars such as Catella (by Generous), Diamond Shoal (by Mill Reef) and Glint Of Gold (by Mill Reef).
Cristal Fizz was bred by Norelands Stud, who sold her for €47,000 in Goffs as a foal.
Her win came just over an hour and a half after Pleaseletmewin sprang a 16/1 surprise in the Group 3 Worthington's Alzheimers Society Stakes (registered as the Horris Hill Stakes) over the same course and distance.
This was a third win from seven starts for the Ralph Beckett-trained gelding, he was bred by Ballykilbride Stud, made £36,000 in Doncaster as a yearling, and he is due for export as he was sold for 450,000gns in Wednesday's session of the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale in Newmarket.
He is one of a trio of winners out of Jacaranda Ridge (by Indian Ridge), a winning daughter of Celtic Fling (by Lion Cavern), which makes her a half-sister to Italian Group 1 scorer Rainbow Peak (by Hernando) and to mile listed winner Celtic Heroine (by Hernando).
Pleaseletmewin's grandam is a half-sister to the Group 1 Prix du Jockey Club (French Derby) and runaway Group 1 Racing Post Trophy star Celtic Swing (by Damister).
Power's first crop also includes the Group 1-placed Group 3 Angley Stakes winner Peace Envoy, pattern-placed Italian stakes winner Biz Power, and the dual stakes-placed La Force, and he also has a listed race winner from the New Zealand-born half of his global first crop.

TAMAYUZ FILLY STARS IN MOYGLARE DOUBLE
Moyglare Stud recorded a notable double on Sunday when Designs On Rome (by Holy Roman Emperor) won a Group 2 handicap over a mile at Sha Tin, in Hong Kong, several hours before Making Light beat the colts to take the Group 3 Killavullan Stakes over seven at Leopardstown.
The former, a Group 1-winning multi-millionaire trained by John Moore, is out of Summer Trysting (by Alleged), which makes him a half-brother to the group/graded scorers Sights On Gold (by Indian Ridge) and Simple Exchange (by Danehill).
Making Light, on the other hand, runs in the famous Moyglare colours, she is trained by Dermot Weld, and she preceded this pattern success with an eight-length score over the same trip at Limerick.
She is out of 12-furlong winner Instant Sparkle (by Danehill), who is a full-sister to Group 2 Ribblesdale Stakes heroine Irresistible Jewel, and that mare is, of course, responsible for Group 1 Irish St Leger scorer Royal Diamond (by King's Best) and for the classic-placed Group 2 Ribblesdale Stakes star Princess Highway (by Street Cry).
This is one of Moyglare Stud's most famous families and its stars also include the Group 1-placed multiple pattern scorer Profound Beauty (by Danehill) and the prolific Carla Bianca (by Dansili).
Making Light is a daughter of the regally-related Group 1 star and Derrinstown Stud stallion Tamayuz (by Nayef), whose double-digit tally of blacktype winners includes Group 1 Sprint Cup star G Force, Group 2 winner and successful blacktype freshman sire Sir Prancealot, and this year's Group 2-winning filly Blond Me.
Holy Roman Emperor, the Coolmore classic sire responsible for Designs On Rome, also completed an international double that day as his daughter Flying Fairies won the Listed Trigo Stakes over 10 furlongs at Leopardstown.
The Joseph Murphy-trained three-year-old was bred by Brittas Stud & Grange Stud, and she is out of Bright Birdie (by Sadler's Wells), who is a full-sister to Group 3 scorer Meath and half-sister to the Group 2-placed Group 3 Chester Vase winner Twist And Turn (by Groom Dancer).

GROUP 2 TREBLE FOR EUROPEAN SIRES
Three of the Group 2 contests on Moonee Valley's Cox Plate card on Saturday were won by sons of European stallions, two of them Coolmore sires.
The United States (by Galileo) justified favouritism in the Group 2 Schweppes Crystal Mile and the Robert Hickmott-trained six-year-old, a Group 1 winner over 10 furlongs at Randwick in March, won the Group 3 Entreprise Stakes at Leopardstown when trained by Aidan O'Brien.
The chesnut is out of Beauty Is Truth (by Pivotal), which makes him a half-brother to the triple pattern-winning sprinter Fire Lily (by Dansili) and a full-brother to leading juvenile Hydrangea, the Curragh maiden winner whose three most recent starts have resulted in second place finishes in the Group 2 Debutante Stakes, Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes and Group 1 Fillies' Mile.
They were bred by the Beauty Is Truth Syndicate and their dam won the Group 2 Prix du Gros Chene over five furlongs.
The next race on the card, the 12 and a half-furlong Group 2 Antler Luggage Mooney Valley Gold Cup saw prior two-mile Group 1 Sydney Cup scorer Grand Marshal (by Dansili) spring an 18/1 surprise.
The Chris Waller-trained gelding was bred by Carwell Equities Ltd and he is out of 2002's Group 1 Irish Oaks heroine Margarula (by Doyoun).
Winx's eight-length demolition job in the Group 1 William Hill Cox Plate followed, with former European runner Hartnell (by Authorized) the one who chased her home, and then it was the turn of the New Zealand-bred gelding Sacred Elixir (by Pour Moi), this time winner of the Group 2 LUCRF Super Vase over 10 furlongs.
A Group 1 winner as a juvenile, the Tony Pike-trained bay was bred by Graham de Gruchy, he is out of Baltika (by Stravinsky) and his relations include the Group 1 stars Horlicks (by Three Legs) and Brew (by Sir Tristram).

SEVENTH BLACKTYPE HORSE FOR MAYSON
- FRESHMAN UPDATE
Power (by Oasis Dream), sire of Saturday's blacktype-winning pair Pleaseletmewin and Cristal Fizz, was not the only freshman to record a big-race double this past week.
Rosie Briar, a daughter of Cheveley Park Stud's sprint star Mayson (by Invincible Spirit) sprang a 20/1 surprise in the Listed Scott Dobson 30th Birthday Memorial Doncaster Stakes over six furlongs, making her the seventh individual blacktype earner from her sire's first juveniles and the second of them to win in at that level.
The Andrew Balding-trained filly, who has won two of her three starts, is owned and bred by Dr J Hobby and she is out of Lighted Way (by Kris), a half-sister to the prolific sprint handicap scorer Connect (by Petong).
Then Private Matter, a Cheveley Park homebred, won the Listed Prix Zeddaan at Maisons-Laffitte on Thursday, a second piece of blacktype for the Richard Fahey-trained colt. He is the first foal out of Privacy Order (by Azamour), a daughter of the Group 1 Prix de Diane (French Oaks) heroine Confidential Lady (by Singspiel).
Mayson also recorded a double at Newcastle on Tuesday when Mazyoun's odds-on success over six furlongs was followed by five-furlong nursery success for Spin Doctor. The former is trained by Hugo Palmer, the latter by Richard Fahey, and both were bred by Cheveley Park Stud.
Kings Gift (by Casamento) was runner-up in the Group 3 Worthington's Alzheimers Society Stakes (registered as the Horris Hill Stakes) at Newbury, and Helmet's (by Exceed And Excel) Australian-born son Archives, a Darley-bred and Godolphin-owned three-year-old, added a Moonee Valley six-furlong Group 3 success to his listed success over the same trip at Doomben last season.
Godolphin's Saeed bin Suroor-trained filly Dubai Elegance (by Sepoy) made it second time lucky when scoring over six furlongs at Chelmsford on Saturday, and the same stallion struck with Dusty Bin in the five-furlong nursery at Redcar on Monday.
The Kevin Ryan-trained filly Fields Of Song (by Harbour Watch), who was bred by Ballyreddin Stud, took her record to two wins from five starts when winning the six-furlong nursery at Newbury on Saturday.
She has not yet been out of the first four, she made €42,000 in Goffs as a yearling, €52,000 at Goresbridge in May and then 55,000gns at Newmarket on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, Lane's End Farm sire Union Rags (by Dixie Union), one of three US freshmen with a Grade 1 winner to their name in 2016, was represented by the Freddy Head-trained debut winner Musawaah at Saint-Cloud.
This was the mile race in which Treve's full-sister Terre was sent off favourite – she was the runner-up – and the Shadwell Farm-bred winner, a grand-daughter of Grade 1 scorer Magical Allure (by General Meeting), is related to Japanese star Narita Top Road (by Soccer Boy).
The Airlie Stud-bred filly The Feathered Nest (by Dragon Pulse) was a winning favourite at Chelmsford on Thursday evening.
