LORD topped the Goffs UK October HIT & Yearling Sale 12 months ago, bringing £70,000 from Donald McCain after completing a hat-trick of wins for Olly Murphy, and went on to reward new connections with a listed hurdle win at Aintree before finishing second in the Scottish Triumph Hurdle.

Olly Murphy has seven lots catalogued in next week’s sale on Tuesday, October 20th, including Little Ledgend (Lot 48), who has won both his starts over fences by a combined 13 lengths, and the Mastercraftsman gelding Crafty Gael (Lot 46), successful on his last two starts over hurdles.

Flat listed winner and dual hurdle winner Square d’Alboni (Lot 85) is one of a number of supplementary entries from Dan Skelton, bringing the trainer’s draft to nine. Andrew Kinirons has made two late entries, recent maiden hurdle runner-up C Pas Possible (Lot 77) and dual flat listed scorer Lips Freedom (Lot 76), also twice successful over hurdles.

C Pas Possible’s half-length defeat in a maiden hurdle at Navan reads well, as the Night Wish gelding was only headed close home by Willie Mullins’ short-priced favourite Emerald Enigma. The winner, who has won three of her four starts, lines up in a listed novice hurdle at Limerick at 2.55 today (Saturday).

Jedd O’Keeffe’s nine-year-old Fringill Dike (Lot 87) remains in good form, the 10-time winner having finished second on his last two starts, after winning by nine lengths in June.

Useful flat horses have also emerged from last year’s sale, with Stuart Williams’ £28,000 buy I Still Have Faith beaten a nose in a valuable contest at Lingfield on Good Friday. Flat trainers consigning next week include David Barron, Declan Carroll, Ed Dunlop, Jack Channon and Marcus Tregoning.

Intrusively finished third in the Richmond Stakes as a juvenile, but has since lost his way, though the Michael Appleby-trained four-year-old has won since the catalogue was printed.

The sale begins at 11am with 19 yearlings, including one from Yapham Manor Stud, whose three offerings last year were all bought by their breeder, Bond Thoroughbreds. Their sole offering is by Pinatubo, while other sires represented include Calyx, Dream Ahead, Harry Angel and Kameko. Among the most appealing pedigrees are a Caturra colt out of a listed winner (Lot 10) and a Kameko colt out of a daughter of Mabs Cross (Lot 15).
