A QUALITY draft from the Aga Khan Studs is expected to feature prominently at the Goffs Autumn HIT Sale on Monday, November 3rd, which will be immediately followed by the Goffs Autumn Yearling Sale from Monday to Wednesday, November 5th.
Among the 15 lots to have carried the iconic green and red silks is 92-rated three-year-old Esherann, a half-brother to group performer Erzindjan, who topped this sale at €160,000 four years ago.
Fellow Wootton Bassett colt Tangapour produced a career-best effort in the Group 3 Royal Whip Stakes, finishing second to 111-rated stablemate Zahrann. Reyenzi gained blacktype in the Group 3 Gallinule Stakes, where he finished first past the post but was demoted to third after a stewards’ enquiry. Thrice, who was promoted to first, sold for 320,000gns last week.
Fourteen supplementary entries include Shamrock Flame, who was beaten by a neck on debut at Leopardstown last month. Fellow wildcard A Law Of Her Own is offered following a seven-length win at Punchestown, while her earlier performances include placings at Grade 3 and listed level.
Hailing from the Emmet Mullins stable is Sea Music, who won a listed novices’ handicap chase at the Punchestown Festival, and Watchful Protector, successful in a maiden hurdle last month.
Chester Nimitz was last seen winning a six-furlong maiden at Navan, while Millraceflow won his third start over seven and a half furlongs. Amplitude is offered with a rating of 84 following his six-length win in a Gowran Park maiden.
IPANEMA Queen, a dual stakes winner this season, is a recent example of the value that can be found at the Goffs Autumn Yearling Sale, having been picked up by John Bourke’s Hyde Park Stud for just €4,500 12 months ago.
It’s safe to say that Stonestreet Stables and Amo Racing paid far more for the Adrian Murray-trained juvenile following her impressive debut at the Curragh, when she immediately earned quotes for the Queen Mary Stakes.
A number of the sale’s graduates went on to light up another sales ring after proving themselves on the track – Caught U Looking’s value rose from €27,000 to 1,800,000gns after a Group 3 and listed win.
Con Marnane’s €11,000 buy Givemethebeatboys hit the headlines when reselling for £1.1 million eight months later. The Bansha boss will be one of many breeze-up consignors on site, considering the impressive profits yielded by Autumn Yearling Sale buys earlier this year.
Standout results saw a €16,000 yearling resell for £360,000, a €20,000 buy resell for €135,000 and a €60,000 colt sell for £260,000.
Taany, who won two Group 3s in Italy this year, was sourced from the draft of Derrinstown Stud, who return with two next week. Clare Manning has a busy few days ahead, consigning 43 yearlings through her Boherguy Stud, offered as part of Jim Bolger’s consolidation of his breeding interests.
The catalogue features 16 yearlings eligible for next year’s Goffs Two Million Series and another 17 eligible for Harry’s Half Million.
