SONS of Grade 1 winners Stormy Ireland and Utopie Des Bordes are among 39 two-year-olds set to go under the hammer at the Goffs Yorton Sale on Thursday, September 10th.
The sale has produced two Grade 1 winners since its inception in 2019 and returned 12 months ago to produce an average price of £31,556 and median of £27,500, with Doctor Dino geldings leading trade at £95,000 and £105,000.
Next week’s catalogue has a similarly strong French influence, featuring the progeny of Choeur Du Nord, Clovis Du Berlais, Masked Marvel and Nirvana Du Berlais.
Blue Bresil, who stood at Yorton before transferring to Glenview Stud, has four lots catalogued, while Yorton inmates Gentlewave and Ito have three and seven respectively. Cracksman, who joined the roster this season, relies on Lot 24, a half-brother to stakes performer Zminiature.
Arrigo’s first crop bred at Yorton are now four-year-olds and, since moved to Bullbrook Stables, the half-brother to Alderflug is represented by six lots next week.
Na Has is another of the more obscure stallions in the catalogue, his sole offering (Lot 15) a half-brother to two Grade 3 performers, and a three-parts brother to listed-winning hurdler Hotmale Has (Saint Des Saints).
Na Has is a listed-winning half-brother to Willie Mullins’ Grade 1-winning juvenile hurdler Narciso Has, out of Prix Alain Du Breil runner-up Chegei Has. The son of Saint Des Saints stands at Haras de Toury, where his first crop have turned two.
Zaskar, and unraced son of Sea The Stars and Zarkava, is a year ahead at Haras de Cercy and the half-brother to Zarak has risen to a fee of €4,000 this season.
His sole entry at Yorton, Lot 31, is a gelding out of blacktype hurdler Maybewave and hails from the family of Sydney Cup victor Mourayan and Grade 1 hurdler Mourad.
