Strokestown Show
THE search is on for the best Irish Draught broodmare at Strokestown Show on September 14th, where a prize fund of €2,000 will be on offer in the class.
Sponsored by the Callery family, the Irish Draught Broodmare championship will take place at 3pm on the day and is open to broodmares with foals at foot. Foals must be led but only the mare will be judged in the class.

Goresbridge sale
TABLES for the gala dinner and auction at the Goresbridge Select Sale of Show Jumpers next Friday night, September 5th, are selling fast. Tables are limited and must be booked in advance directly with The Amber Springs Hotel, where the dinner and auction will take place, on 053 9483414.

Camphire International Horse Trials and Country Fair featured on RTE’s flagship series Nationwide last night and the episode will be available to view on RTE Player for up to seven days.
Bluegrass league
Showjumping Ireland’s Ulster Region has unveiled Bluegrass Horse Feeds as the new 2014 sponsor of the Ulster Region Autumn Pony Tour, with a total prize fund of more than £12,000 on offer.
The Autumn Pony Tour begins today at the state of the art Causeway Coast Arena/Coleraine RDA venue and will conclude in the Portmore EC on Saturday, November 8th.
