QUALITY race mares from Gigginstown House Stud have topped the Goffs December Sale for the past two years and their 2018 draft of eight is headed by Whistle Dixie, a half-sister to Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Kicking King and she is in-foal to Mount Nelson.

Other breeding stock highlights include an Oscar half-sister to Grade 1 winner Annacotty in foal to Beat Hollow and a winning sister to Grade 1 performer Ordinary World.

The catalogue for the two-day December National Hunt Sale (Wednesday-Thursday, December 12-13th) is now available online. It features 555 lots, comprising foals, yearlings, older horses and breeding stock.

The sale has proved a popular source for pinhookers’ December foal purchases. Two foal graduates of the sale who have gone on to success are Relegate and Tornado Flyer, Grade 1 Champion Bumper winners at Cheltenham and Punchestown respectively.

Among the sires of the 487 foals on offer are Aizavoski, Beat Hollow, Califet, Court Cave, Doyen, Fame And Glory, Famous Name, Flemensfirth, Getaway, Jukebox Jury, Kingston Hill, Leading Light, Libertarian, Malinas, Milan, Mount Nelson, Ocovango, Ol’ Man River, Policy Maker, Presenting, Sea Moon, Shantou, Sholokhov, Soldier Of Fortune, Vision D’Etat, Walk In The Park, Westerner, Workforce and Zambezi Sun.

The final lot of the sale will be the stallion Masterofthehorse, a Sadler’s Wells Group 3 winner and Derby-placed own-brother to European champion racemare Alexandrova.
