Q: How many horses are you consigning this year and where are they selling?

A: We have eight foals going to the sales this year all will sell at Goffs, seven in Part 1 and one in Part 2.

Q: Tell us a bit about the Lot you are most excited about bringing to the sales any why.

A: Lot 566 is a colt by Kodiac out of Spinola.

The mare won the Group 2 Cherry Hinton herself as a two-year-old and has already produced six winners, four of them stakes horses.

The foal hasn’t put a foot wrong since being born. He’s very athletic with plenty of substance. Hopefully he’ll be on a good few shortlists.

Q: What was the best result you had at the breeding stock sales in the past?

A: In 2014 I bought a mare named Simonetta carrying to the then first crop of Dawn Approach. She cost €50,000 and the resulting foal went on to realise €300,000. I haven’t quite been able to pull of the same stroke since!

Q: Which young stallions do you think will be popular?

A: No doubt plenty of the first season sires will be in hot demand.

We’re selling two fillies by Galileo Gold this year and, if they’re anything to go by, I imagine his progeny will sell well. They’re both quiet impressive individuals with a great walk. Lot 653 (ex Elshamms) is a particularly striking filly.

Q: How many horses are you consigning this year and where are they selling?

A: We are selling four foals and two mares at Goffs.

Q: Tell us a bit about the Lot you are most excited about bringing to the sales any why.

A: I’m most excited about two foals. The first is a beautiful Invincible Spirit colt out of Lulawin.

He is a half-brother to Railway Stakes winner Painted Cliffs and his full-sister won her maiden this year. We also sell an easy-moving Carravaggio filly, whose dam’s half-brother Mount Fuji was fourth in the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes this year.

Q: What was the best result you had at the breeding stock sales in the past?

A: Our best result at a breeding stock sale was selling a mare named Spefically. It was a fairytale for the owners.

They had bought the mare for €55,000. She turned out to be the dam of Speciosa, the 1000 Guineas winner. Specifically herself was a half-sister to Pride, who was beaten by a neck when second in that same year’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. Newsells Park Stud bought the mare from us for 1.7 million guineas. Happy days.

Q: Which young stallions do you think will be popular?

A: We are looking forward to seeing the first crop of foals by Aclaim, Caravaggio, Churchill and Profitable.

Q: How many horses are you consigning this year and where are they selling?

A: We have 11 foals and two mares heading for Goffs.

Q: Tell us a bit about the Lot you are most excited about bringing to the sales any why.

A: We have an Australia filly foal out of Champagne Or Water. She is the first foal out of a listed winning mare. She is a lovely, well-balanced filly with loads of bone and great presence.

We also have a Footstepsinthesand colt foal out of a winning Kyllachy mare, who is a half-sister to Pickett, a winner who was second in the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes.

He is by a proper sire and he is a really good-walking foal with loads of quality. He is a belter!

We have a Speighstown filly named Platinum Coast in the Breeding Stock Sale. She cost $230,000 as a yearling and you can see why.

Q: Which young stallions do you think will be popular?

A: I think Cotai Glory will be popular. We have a few on the farm and they are very straightforward stock, solid-looking foals with great appetites.

Ribchester also has some nice stock that are big, strong, well-boned foals with big walks.
