SOME 138 acres has come on the market at Barnadown, Hugginstown, Co Kilkenny. The farm comprises of 80 acres of good quality grassland and a small derelict residence in need of complete renovation, 24 acres of lands with planting permission and a further 34 acres for reclaimation of habitat.

Brought to the market by David Shee of Shee & Hawe, Carrick-On-Sur, Co Tipperary, the selling agent reports good interest in the farm, which will be offered in various lots. “We are receiving quite a bit of interest from a mix of local parties and also from people interested in the planting lands.

“The farm will be offered in various lots to ascertain levels of interest. One lot on offer will comprise of the residence, which requires total rebuilding and renovation, along with some old outbuildings on 10 acres of grassland. The grassland will be offered in several lots and the 24 acres for planting will also be offered separately. However, the lands are all adjoining and may be suitable to be purchased as one lot if desired,” said David Shee.

Located in south Kilkenny, the townland of Barnadown, Hugginstown is 8km from the M9 Dublin/Waterford motorway.

The farm will go to auction on Wednesday, May 18th at 2.30pm in the Rising Sun, Mullinavat, Co Kilkenny.
