THE 1200-acre Radisson Blu Farnham Golf and Spa Resort in Cavan has arrived on the market with an asking price in excess of €26 million. The resort, which has been developed at a cost of around €80 million over the last 15 years by Dublin pharmacist Roy McCabe, is currently showing a profit of more than €2 million per annum.

Located on the edge of Cavan town and often home to horse show goers during the international show jumping events at Cavan Equestrian Centre, the hotel has been put up for sale on the instructions of the receiver, Aiden Murphy, who was appointed by Nama only two months ago.

The sale is being handled by Savills and is expected to be the biggest hotel sale outside of the capital since 2014, when racehorse owner J.P. McManus purchased Adare Manor for close to €30 million. The profitable estate is expected to attract both Irish and international buyers.

Launch of new forestry website

A NEW forestry website has just been launched. Developed by Forestry Services Ltd, the new site www.foresttomarket.ie is a dedicated website for investors/customers to source both existing plantations and bare land suitable for forestry. Auctioneers and selling agents, upon registration, will have the opportunity to advertise their forestry parcels on the website while it provides a one-stop shop for those keen to acquire such parcels. This is the first website of its kind for the forestry industry in Ireland.
