THE 2010 Melbourne Cup winner Americain will stand in Ireland next year but the stud farm and fee have not yet been decided.

Americain’s stallion career is being managed by famous Kentucky stud Calumet Farm, where he stood for the past two seasons. His first crop are yearlings in 2015.

Calumet is also standing Grey Swallow in Ireland next year. Winner of the 2004 Irish Derby and the 2005 Tattersalls Gold Cup, Grey Swallow originally stood in Australia before being repatriated this year.

Dermot Weld, who trained Grey Swallow, trained winners for Calumet Farm this year and this week Calumet registered another 11 horses in training in Ireland.

November winner: Aidan Fogarty has won the Connolly’s Red Mills/The Irish Field Breeder of the Month competition for November. He bred Hong Kong sprinter Peniaphobia.
