THE catalogue for the Goffs Land Rover Sale (June 10th-11th) was published this week and it includes 550 horses, up 20 on last year.

Champion Hurdle winner Faugheen graces the front cover of the catalogue, the unbeaten gelding having been bought for just €12,000 at the 2011 sale.

Last year’s Land Rover Sale generated record turnover of €11.5 million, up 50% on the previous year, and 44 horses made €50,000 or more. The top price was €200,000 for a Robin Des Champs three-year-old.

All the top sires are well represented in this year’s catalogue, led by Beneficial, Flemensfirth, King’s Theatre, Milan, and Robin Des Champs, as well as Califet, Getaway, Gold Well, and Yeats.

Every horse offered for sale over the two days is eligible for the €100,000 Goffs Land Rover Bumper at Punchestown next April.

Last month’s edition was won by the Gordon Elliott-trained Petit Mouchoir for Gigginstown House Stud.

The grey gelding was bought by Harold Kirk and Willie Mullins for €100,000 at last year’s Land Rover Sale. The vendor of the horse who wins next year’s race will receive an all new Land Rover Discovery Sport.
