DERBY and Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe hero Workforce, who has spent the past five years at Shadai Stallion Station in Japan, is coming to Ireland and will stand at Knockhouse Stud.

The Juddmonte-bred bay is a son of King's Best (by Kingmambo) and out of Soviet Moon (by Sadler's Wells). His dam is a full-sister to the Group 1 St Leger winner and sire Brian Boru and a three-parts sister to the classic-placed Group 2 winner Sea Moon (by Beat Hollow). The latter stands at Burgage Stud and will have his first foals in 2017.

Eva Luna (by Alleged), the grandam of Workforce, won the Group 2 Park Hill Stakes, she is a half-sister to the dam of the US Grade 1 star Rougeur (by Blushing Groom), and she is out of Media Luna (by Star Appeal), who chased home Circus Plume in the Group 1 Oaks at Epsom in 1984.

This is also the family of last year's shock Group 1 Oaks heroine Qualify (by Fastnet Rock).

Workforce, whose oldest progeny are three-year-olds, joins Libertarian, Notnowcato, Prince Flori and September Storm at Sean Kinsella's Co Kilkenny stud. His fee for 2017 is €5,000.
