SWISS Olympic champion Steve Guerdat put in three flawless round of jumping to give himself two fences – and one crucial time penalty – over his challengers from Ireland and France in the finale of the Longines FEI World Cup 2015.

As it turned out, he needed all of that margin, knocking two fences in the final round and finishing with fractions of a second to spare.

In his race to win, Guerdat employed a lot of elbow action and his mare Albfueren's Paille dropped her hind legs into the final fence. Watch it here:
