WHILE the Curragh gets it’s make over, racing in Kildare has centred on Naas and the track has picked up the pace this spring with its impressive new facilities for owners, trainers and racegoers. With the summer season at last approaching, it’s time to turn a bit of attention to the ladies. This week the track unveiled preparations for the Ladies Day on May 20th, where racehorses will be on trial for Royal Ascot (we saw Caravaggio last year) and ladies heading to Berkshire can also have a trial run in the ‘A touch of Royal Ascot’ fashion stakes.

TV3 Personality, Anna Daly was announced as the Ladies Day Celebrity Fashion Judge at a reception in Kildare Village this week with the winner taking home a most desirable prize of an overnight stay in the Palmerstown Manor House with 19 friends or family, which will also includes dinner. The prize also includes a €1,000 shopping spree in Kildare Village. Enough to send us scurrying to the wardrobe!
