THE Irish eventing team are currently in action at the FEI Eventing European Championships at Haras du Pin, France. As The Irish Field went to press on Friday, dressage was coming to a close with Co Down’s Joseph Murphy posting a score of 32.5 with Calmaro to sit best of the Irish in 25th at that point in the competition.

Meath’s Sarah Ennis was first out for Ireland with the Irish Sport Horse Grantstown Jackson (Clover Brigade x Right Win), bred by Caroline Widger and owned by Peter Cole and Susanna Francke. The pair scored 38.8. Next out was Felicity Ward with James O’Callaghan’s Regal Bounty (Orestus VDL x Senang Hati), bred by Miriam de Feu. They scored 37.9.

On Friday morning, Susie Berry put a 35.1 on the board for Team Ireland with Jayne McGivern’s 11-year-old mare Clever Trick (Financial Reward x Bonnie Prince), bred at the Kilcandra Stud.
