UNTIL such time as Douvan and others emerge from the novice ranks, Un De Sceaux appears to rule the roost among the established two-mile chasers (though Sprinter Sacre on a good day would have plenty to say about that).

Un De Sceaux passed his latest test in the Sodexo Clarence House Chase at Ascot on Saturday, January 23rd in adequate style with a long-looking five-length win over old warhorse Sire De Grugy, and, for a change in this division, the overall time was pretty good.
