GRADE 1 winner Fury Road is the big name in next Wednesday’s Goffs September Horses In Training Sale at Doncaster.

Gigginstown House Stud has traditionally sent a consignment to this sale and just two years ago their draft in this sale included The Very Man. Sold for £21,000 that day, the horse has gone on to win five races for new connections - including the Shergar Cup at Ascot last month - and has been placed on numerous other occasions.

Next week Gigginstown sells another six entries following their earlier draft in the Doncaster August Sale. Their draft this time includes Lieutenant Command, winner of the Grade B Carrickmines Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse in March, and Epson Du Houx, who placed third in the Grade 1 Dan Moore Memorial Chase at Fairyhouse three starts ago, plus Defi Bleu, who placed third in the Grade 1 Irish Grand National on his most recent start.

Other eyecatching lots include Grade 2 winner Grand Roi, one of eight horses consigned by Gordon Elliott, and the Grade 2 winner Sil Ver Klass, who finished fourth in the Grade B Shamrock Handicap Chase at Gowran Park in March.

Last year Goffs introduced a new two-year-old store session to its calendar and this year that session will feature in this catalogue with 13 entries to be offered by sires Bathyrhon, Blue Bresil, Frontiersman, Highland Reel, Hillstar, Falco, Jack Hobbs, Jukebox Jury, Muhaarar, Nayef, Schiaparelli, Shirocco and Walk In The Park.

Goffs UK managing director Tim Kent said: “Last year saw the successful launch of the BHA & TBA’s new NH Junior Hurdle Races for three-year-olds and our new two-year-old store session was introduced to support that initiative.

“Goffs graduates made an excellent start in the NH Junior Hurdle Races with Georgi Girl, Sailing Grace, Our Follet and Solomoon all claiming three-year-old race victories in its debut year and this autumn will see our first two-year-old store graduates target the series.”

Supplementary entries will be taken up to the time of the sale.
