AMONG the quartet of less experienced horses Sarah Ennis had out at Ballyvannon on Saturday was the French thoroughbred Royal Turgeon, who had made his Eventing Ireland debut at Vesey Lodge two weeks previously.

Pulled-up on his only start in a point-to-point, which came in a four-year-old maiden at Horse And Jockey in March 2012, the bay/brown gelding is by Turgeon, sire of Will Coleman’s two-star ride Tight Lines, out of a mare by Garde Royale.
