FOXROCK extended his winning run to four with an all-the-way win in the Tetratema Cup Hunters Chase at Gowran.
The nine-year-old was ridden by trainer Ted Walsh's daughter, Katie, and the 1/6 favourite kept up the gallop to score by 13 lengths from Maple Mons.
Foxrock is owned by Barry Connell and connections will now choose between the Randox Health Grand National at Aintree and the BoyleSports Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse as his next port of call.
Walsh said: "It's more than likely he will go for the Irish or English National next. Fairyhouse would look the more obvious as it's only over the road and he's 4lb better off.
"But if it was going to be a very dry April then Barry (Connell, owner) might be tempted to run in Liverpool. At this stage, it looks more like Fairyhouse."
GUTSY WINNER
Kilcarry Bridge dug deep to run out a gutsy winner of the Grade B Holden Plant Rentals Shamrock Handicap Chase.
One of two John Ryan runners in the contest, Donagh Meyler's mount set the pace along with Winter Magic but Black Zero looked a likely scorer when coming through to take it up before two out. However, the winner refused to go down without a fight and battled back to regain the upper hand and score by two and a half lengths at 10/1.
Ryan said: "Off that weight I knew he had a huge chance. The trip (2m1f) was too short for him last time. It was two miles, two furlongs today on a bigger track and really he's a two and a half mile horse. He's as tough as nails.
"He's entered in the novice handicap chase at Cheltenham but he won't get in. I think that much of him. He's the real deal. He will probably go for the Aon Chase at Punchestown. That might be his next run, and he would prefer better ground. He handles soft but is better on good ground. He will campaign away for the summer.
MAIDEN SUCCESS
Lachares (6/4) took advantage of Chirico Vallis running out to land the opening Thomastown Maiden Hurdle. The winner was left in the lead when the 4/5 favourite ran through the wing at the second hurdle and Ellmarie Holden's charge never looked like being caught as he recorded a three-and-a-half-length verdict over Great Tango.
Castlegrace Paddy (6/4 fav) stayed on strongly for Davy Russell to justify market support by nine lengths from Sizinguptheamazon in the Best Of Luck To The Irish At Cheltenham Maiden Hurdle.
Donegal Tuesday powered home to an impressive success under Dylan Robinson in the Gowran Park Golf Club Captains 2017 Handicap Hurdle. Pahaska took them along before being swamped approaching the turn for home and it was Michael Hourigan's 10/1 chance that stayed on best to score in fine style by 14 lengths from Phar Island.
With Dicosimo falling with a circuit to go, General Principle (8/15 fav) cruised home for an easy nine-length success over Cloudy Morning in the HPR Fleet Management Beginners Chase, while Ministerforsport (2/1) saw off the late challenge of Castlebrook by a length and a half in the Raceday Packages At gowranpark.ie Point-To-Point Flat Race.
