THE Irish School of Farriery will exhibit at the Agri Careers 2017 expo which takes place on Thursday, March 30th at the RDS, Ballsbridge. The event, which attracted over 7,000 visitors last year, is hosted by the Irish Farmers Journal and open eir.

The expo gives attendees an opportunity to meet and speak with the Irish School of Farriery faculty to discuss the QQI accredited Advanced Certificate Craft of Farriery which has been developed in association with the Irish Master Farriers Association and SOLAS. This four-year farriery apprenticeship gives candidates first-hand experience of working with a Master Farrier and results in a QQI Level 6 award.

Anne Channon, Manager of the Irish School of Farriery, said: “We are delighted to be part of Agri Careers 2017 to promote farriery as a career option. Qualified Irish farriers are widely sought after throughout the world and many of our apprenticeship graduates travel to gain international experience before returning to establish their own businesses in Ireland. This year, we are encouraging female candidates who have an interest in the equine industry to consider this SOLAS apprenticeship. If you have a flair for craftsmanship, a desire to travel and an aspiration to set up your own business, then farriery could be a perfect career path.” For more information please visit www.irishfarrieryauthority.com or to register for the free event check out the Agri Careers website www.agricareers.ie.
