WATERFORD riders excelled in Sunday's seventh round of the TRM/Horseware New Heights Champions Series at Tattersalls in Co Meath, filling two of the top three places.

Capt Geoff Curran from Fenor in Waterford took the winner's prize with the Minister For Defence's Irish Sport Horse Shannondale Rahona. They produced the fastest of three double clear rounds (48.82) in the nine horse jump-off.

Meath's Nicolas Butler took the runners-up spot with Vimminka, in a time of 49.48, ahead of Kill, Co Waterford's Francis Connors who also jumped double clear, with Erne Ladygoldilocks, but in a time of 54.05, to take third place.

Alexander Butler and Eldorado were the fastest of the four-fault rounds against the clock and finished fourth, with Clem McMahon and Hilton Pacato in fifth and Kenneth Graham with George in sixth.
