PYLEDRIVER (William Muir/Martin Dwyer) proved his Derby disappointment to be a one-off as he landed the Group 2 Great Voltigeur, adding to his win at the same level in the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot.

The St Leger was the predictable call after his resounding defeat of Highland Chief (Paul & Oliver Cole/David Probert) and Mogul (Aidan O’Brien/Ryan Moore), but his trainer was eyeing a trip to France, with the Grand Prix de Paris on September 13th next on his agenda, and a tilt at the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe being considered ahead of Doncaster.
