BARELY has the dust settled after last night's record-breaking top price of €1.4 million paid for the Irish Sport Horse Nations Cup star Dougie Douglas than the team at Goresbridge are set to do it all over again this evening for the Goresbridge Go For Gold Sale.

The Amber Springs Hotel is the venue once more for this evening's sale, sponsored by Horseware and BBA Ireland and global interest is expected in the flagship sale.

Over 200 hopefuls were whittled down by the selectors to the 62 lots up for sale this evening, the vast majority are registered Irish Sport Horses with full pedigrees. Among the expected high points tonight will be the three lots consigned by top British event rider Oliver Townend and his business partner Andrew Cawthray - LLC Cooley (Lot 3), Peruising (Lot 4), are both Irish-bred.

LCC Cooley, who has 79 British Eventing points, is by Ramiro B (the sire of last year's sales-topper, Red Hot Cooley, who fetched €53,000), who Townend stands in partnership with Nina Barbour at Harthill Stud in Cheshire. The Belgian warmblood stallion is also represented in the sale by three 2012 geldings (Lots 38, 43 and 52).

Another vendor with three lots listed is Martin Walsh of Shannondale Stud who is selling a trio of well-related three-year-old geldings (Lots 41, 50 and 59) by the stud's Darco stallion Shannondale Sarco St Ghyvan.

Other sires with three lots catalogued are Clover Brigade (Lots 7, 20, and 55), and Harlequin du Carel (Lots 6, 28 and 44) while represented by a first crop three-year-old is Financial Reward (Lot 47), one of just a handful of thoroughbred sires represented in the sale.

Tonight's proceedings start with a champagne reception at 6pm with the auction and gala dinner starting at 7pm, conducted by Goresbridge auctioneer Martin Donohoe and his team.
