POSTPONED flew the flag prominently for Europe when the five-year-old Irish-bred son of Dubawi raced to a two-length victory in the $6 million Longines Dubai Sheema Classic. Only five short years since he took out his licence, Roger Varian was posting another notable success on his meteoric rise to the top of the training tree.

Handled by Luca Cumani until the end of the 2015 season, Postponed was among the horses that owner Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum moved to Varian and the horse’s career path is still very much on an upward curve.
