The Newmarket trainer enjoyed a tremendous day on Saturday as Mukhadram finished a fine third in the big race, Mange All obliged on the Ascot card, Zaraee won at Newcastle and the 4/1 favourite Muthmir, having run very well on his reappearance, landed the valuable Skybet Dash at York.

Thoughts immediately turned to the 32Red Cup, until recently the Stewards’ Cup, after the Invincible Spirit four-year-old and Graham Lee had come from off the pace to lead inside the final furlong and account for Goldream by a length and a half with Rene Mathis and David Marnane’s Zalty claiming the minor places. Out Do was right behind and should be able to win a good sprint before long.
