SHEIKH Mohammed was present to oversee the purchase for 3,600,000gns of Hazelwood Bloodstock’s son of Dubawi and the Galileo mare Alina, standing with Anthony Stroud. The price is the best paid in Europe this year for a yearling and the best in the world for a colt, and he was the most expensive of the 19 lots sold to the ruler of Dubai for an average of 925,000gns.

Bred by Sun Bloodstock, the colt was prepared for the sale locally by Adrian O’Brien and capped a memorable week for the consignor. Afterwards he told the press, “I am blown away. He is a beautiful horse and never missed a beat. It is an unbelievable figure to sell for and I am over the moon. I am so grateful to my clients for this quality of stock.”
