IT’s the day after the Ballinasloe Fair has ended and the council crews are out, busy cleaning up the fair green and streets for a second week.

The funfair is already half-dismantled and the ‘Big Dig’, postponed during the week-long festival, is ready to resume on Dunlo Street as the town’s water supply and broadband networks are upgraded. Otherwise, Ballinasloe is like many other Irish towns on a Monday morning.
