THE young Riders Academy program has been developed by Athenaeum under the patronage of the European Equestrian Federation and with the cooperation of the International Jumping Riders Club. The main sponsor is Rolex.

The project consists of a riding academy dedicated to young talented show jumpers. The program gives the chance to five talented riders to get six months of training and boarding at a well-known professional stable, with no costs.

The program also includes professional education in communication, business and economics, veterinary and legal practice connected to equestrian environment. The aim of the Academy is to assist in training and to help in preparing riders as future professionals in this sport.

Ireland's Jonathan Gordon was one of the lucky riders selected to take part in the prestigious training. Jonathan was selected to train with Ludger Beerbaum (GER).

JONATHAN IN ACTION

Jonathan made the following comments about his selection:

"When I receive an opportunity like this of course I am going to take every occasion to relish the chance in furthering my knowledge. Not only in riding but in “education” as well. I feel the education and awareness about clean sport is something that I need to update myself on. For sure I must improve my marketing skills and press relation. Moreover to be given an opportunity to train with a top rider for six months goes beyond words. I am really excited to get started and improve myself as well as seeing how they deal with their stable at home.
