SUNDAY'S Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud produced a fine finish as Waldgeist touched off Coronet in a photo-finish.

Waldgeist was the strong favourite for the 12-furlong Group 1 race but Andre Fabre's charge had to battle hard under jockey Pierre-Charles Boudot to hold off the Frankie Dettori-ridden Coronet. The runner-up is trained by John Gosden and had been supplemented for this race rather than taking on Epsom winner Forever Together in the Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh.

The winner is likely to be aimed at the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
