AMONG northern-bred winners recently was Stormbay Bomber who won the extended two-mile handicap hurdle at Bangor on the first day of October.

A six-year-old by Ballyash Stud’s Monsun stallion September Storm, the bay gelding was bred in Rathfriland by Victoria Crawford out of the unraced Alzao mare Top Tottie who has also had a colt (2010) and filly (2014) by the same sire. Placed in bumpers, Stormbay Bomber won a point-to-point in England as a five-year-old.
