PETER Buchanan’s decision to hang up his boots at Perth last Friday week was marked by a presentation of special photographs of Grey Mountain by the racecourse, a montage of photographs by his fellow jockeys and the presence of members of his family at the meeting.

There to applaud Peter on his return to unsaddle the Stuart Crawford-trained River Dun (who disappointingly failed to rise to the occasion) after the bumper were his father Alan, sister Naomi, uncle Ian, aunt Mary and cousin Philip Dalgity all of whom appreciated the tributes made to the Comber native.
