ENGLAND-based, Co Antrim-born trainer Neil Mulholland saddled his 44th winner of the National Hunt season last Friday week, when Runasimi River won the mares’ handicap hurdle at Chepstow, and his first of the new flat campaign on Monday when Lost Enchantment scored under the in-form Ben Curtis at Wolverhampton.

Ridden by stable amateur Millie Wonnacott, who was also on board the chesnut when she won on her previous start at Fontwell over Christmas, the seven-year-old Runasimi River is by Generous and was bred by Alfred Buller out of Zaffaranni (by Zaffaran), an own-sister to Santabless and to Zaffarimbi, dam of Indian Stream. This was a sixth career win for the mare who got off the mark on first time of asking in a Hereford bumper roughly three years ago.
