THERE were no Northern-trained winners at Dromahane in Co Cork last Sunday but a Northern-bred winner won the first race at the meeting while a young man from Armagh kept everyone entertained during the day.

The latter is seven-year-old Kian aka ‘Tubs’ McNally who we had reason to write about in this column on the first Saturday of July 2016 as, seven days earlier, he had made his presence known at Perth racecourse. On that occasion, Kian had just gone along to help his trainer father Ronan saddle the No Cream Bun Partnership’s Violoniste to win a novices’ handicap hurdle.
