WITH no point-to-point in the Northern Region last weekend, owners, trainers and riders had to travel further afield in search of winners and did so successfully at Oldtown and Punchestown.

There were small fields at the re-scheduled Ward Union meeting outside Oldtown on Saturday but a big impression was made by the Stuart Crawford-trained, Ben Crawford-ridden newcomer Largy Debut who was described by the Larne handler as the best horse he has ever had. The Shirocco bay was providing the Crawford brothers with their first point-to-point winner of the season.
