MANY congratulations to former rider Jamie Sloan on saddling his first winner as a handler on Saturday at Kirkistown where newcomer Gallyhill saw off the experienced Colin McKeever-trained Ballybegg by two and a half lengths in division one of the opening four-year-old maiden.

Both the winner, a gelding by Getaway, and the runner-up, a son of Mahler, ran in the colours of race sponsor Wilson Dennison who purchased the pair privately as yearlings in the company of Ian Ferguson at whose Cullybackey yard Sloane is now based.
