LIKE her counterparts at Leopardstown and Limerick, and racecourses throughout Britain, Emma Meehan, chief executive officer/manager at Down Royal, will be keeping a close eye on the weather over the next few days in advance of the track’s Boxing Day meeting on Thursday.

“All the hospitality and premium admission tickets are sold out so all that’s left now is general admission,” Meehan told The Irish Field this week. “It will be all hands on deck in the remaining few days, including Christmas Day itself, and, after the meeting, there will be two days of tidying up before we can even think of relaxing. We are then going to shut up shop for a week!
