DRAPERSTOWN’s Noel Kelly did his bit to promote the skills of North of Ireland trainers when saddling John Devine’s Décor Irlandais to win the opening two-mile, six-furlong novices’ hurdle at Cartmel last Saturday.

Ridden by Conor Orr, the six-year-old Hello Sunday gelding was despatched as the 4/5 favourite having won his maiden over course and distance at the end of June. The chesnut returned to the number one spot three times following four starts in point-to-points during the spring, finishing second on the other occasion.
