ONE owner who was present to see his horse win during the recent behind-closed-doors racing period was Steven Crawford whose newcomer Major Robinson, who he led up, landed the four-year-old bumper at Thurles on Saturday.

The Kalanisi gelding, who is trained by the owner’s absent brother Stuart, was partnered by Jamie Codd when scoring by three-quarters of a length and the same from fellow debutant Mahons Glory and the once previously-raced favourite, Light Brigade. Steven explained why brother Ben wasn’t in the saddle.
