NATIONAL Hunt fans will be well catered for next weekend with jumps cards at Down Royal on Friday evening and at Downpatrick on Bank Holiday Monday.

At Down Royal, the track continues its successful 10-year partnership with Musgrave NI which has exclusive naming rights to the full card. The leading food retail, wholesale and foodservice company owns brands such SuperValu, Centra, Mace, Musgrave MarketPlace and Drinks Inc.

“We are absolutely delighted to continue our partnership with Musgrave NI and are excited to welcome them and their retail partners and suppliers back to Down Royal on Friday, August 26th,” said Down Royal boss Emma Meehan.

“Like Down Royal, Musgrave Group has a rich local heritage with a 146-year history. We are always looking to work with local brands who share our commitment to developing authentic and elevated experiences for racegoers. Through this renewed partnership, we hope to enhance the race-going experience for fans and sponsors and make it a race evening not to forget.”

Paddy Murney of Musgrave NI commented: “We’re pleased to be partnering once again with Down Royal racecourse for this final fixture of their summer calendar. The event is an opportunity for Musgrave to show appreciation to our retailer partners, whilst enabling them to take some time out of their stores.

“The sponsorship also provides an opportunity to showcase Musgrave to a diverse local audience whilst being part of an extremely exciting sporting weekend.”

Style prizes

It’s Ladies’ Day on Bank Holiday Monday, August 29th, at Downpatrick and there will be a competition for the most appropriately dressed lady.

Men are also being encouraged to join the fashionista brigade for the afternoon with a competition for the best-dressed man.

This follows on from the track’s Style And Jazz Sunday earlier in the month when Hilltown’s Carol Rooney again won the most stylish hat and accessories competition.
