WILSON Dennison would like it if all the horses who carried his colours in point-to-points progressed to being top-class performers on the track for their new connections. However, he is in the game long enough to know that not every Loughanmore graduate will make the grade, although still providing their owners with plenty of enjoyment.

Take for instance Ballyrath. The 2010 Flemensfirth gelding ran five times between the flags as a four-year-old for Dennison, finishing up with a fourth-place finish in a Loughbrickland maiden in October 2014. He was then trained at Loughanmore by Colin McKeever but was soon transferred to the care of Nigel Twiston-Davies who saddled the bay to finish second in a Chepstow bumper in early December.
