A three-year-old daughter of Frankel and Arc winner Zarkava named Zarkamiya looks a name to note following her smart debut win on Thursday at ParisLongchamp.
Perfect start! By Frankel out of Zarkava, the regally-bred Zarkamiya makes a winning debut at @paris_longchamp for @CSoumillon and Alain De Royer-Dupre: pic.twitter.com/x93Eii75iz

Trained for owner-breeder the Aga Khan by Alain de Royer-Dupre, Zarkamiya was given a patient ride by Christophe Soumillon and, though she did not show a burst of speed reminiscent of either of her parents, she did stay on strongly for a clearcut victory.
The winning trainer later told press that Zarkamiya is highly strung at home and he does not intend to raise her in class too quickly. Today's race was over a mile and the winner is likely to go up in distance next time out.
Zarkava has had nine foals to-date but only one of them, Zarak, has made an impression on the racecourse. He won the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud. Zarkava also has a two-year-old by Invincible Spirit and a yearling by Siyouni.
