THE Aidan O'Brien-trained trio Key To My Heart, Whitecliffsofdover and Homesman tackled Grade 1 company at Belmont Park on Saturday night but third place, for the last-named, in the Belmont Derby Invitational Stakes was their best result.

Wayne Lordan and Key To My Heart were prominent early in the 10-furlong Belmont Oaks Invitational Stakes but dropped back in the straight and came home last of the 11 runners.

The prize went to WinStar Farm's New Money Honey who led home a Chad Brown 1-2-3. She won by a neck from the recently imported Sistercharlie, with Uni another one and three-quarter lengths back in third. Javier Castellano was the winning rider.

Whitecliffsofdover (Wayne Lordan) and Homesman (Irad Ortiz) raced in mid division in the Belmont Derby Invitational, also over 10 furlongs.

The former then weakened and dropped back, but the latter stayed on to take third behind the front-running Oscar Performance, trained by Brian Lynch and ridden by Jose Ortiz. Irish-bred Called To The Bar, who is trained in France by Pia Brandt, finished second.

The win is a second at the highest level for the son of Kitten's Joy and it was the Aidan O'Brien-trained Lancaster Bomber who chased him home in the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf at Santa Anita in November.
