TWO other meetings took place in the UAE during the period under review and just one of them, at Abu Dhabi, contained a single race for thoroughbreds.

This was a mile maiden for three-year-olds and was won by the Irish-foaled Poster Paint, a son of Postponed. Pat Cosgrave went straight to the front on the winner, making just his third start, and the pair stayed there for winning trainer Bhupat Seemar and owners Al Rashid Stables LLC.

The now gelded son of a Medaglia D’Oro mare beat just one home in a 16-runner maiden at Gowran Park last August for trainer Willie McCreery and owner-breeder Godolphin, and was sold a month later at the ERA Sale in Dubai for approximately €24,000 to Satish Seemar. He was then well beaten on his local and dirt debut over six furlongs at Jebel Ali a month ago.
