LIAM Burke enjoyed his best season for a decade in 2019/20 when sending out eight winners over the course of the campaign and he has taken just four months to equal that tally this time around after course specialist Yaiza claimed the rated novice chase over two miles.

In race that was confined to horses rated 109 or less over hurdles, the lightly raced Yaiza was returned the 100/30 favourite under Darragh O’Keeffe to record his third victory at this venue. The Lanzarote Partnership-owned nine-year-old picked off the always prominent Pat Coyne to take charge after the second last fence and he reached the line half a length ahead of Mick Charlie. This was Burke’s fifth Tramore winner of the season.
