BOUNCING back with a top 10 placing in the $130,000 Horseware Ireland Grand Prix CSI*** during week 10 of the Winter Equestrian Festival was popular Sligo rider Darragh Kerins.

He placed the French-bred Thunder D’Amaury eighth in the week’s showpiece. The nine-year-old Selle Francais gelding (by Quidam De Revel x Plein D Espoir) is owned jointly by the rider, who has a new home and yard in Wellington since last summer, and Maarten Huygens. Kerins could have placed even higher in the main event but for an unfortunate single time fault on the board in a time of 77.28.
