JOSEPH Murphy was the only Northern Region rider competing in last weekend’s three-star class for eight and nine-year-old horses at Blenheim Palace where he finished a good 10th of 68 on Westwinds Hercules. The Ramiro B gelding belongs to well-known racehorse owner Andrew Tinkler and partner Alison Schmutz. Third in the same class, where he was ridden by Australia’s Paul Tapner, was the very consistent Millkom gelding Indian Mill. The nine-year-old was bred by Alfred Buller out of the Indian Ridge mare Charwelton who since produced three fillies by Winged Love (2008), Exit To Nowhere (2009) and Generous (2011). Indian Mill never raced.
