TOKYO: Spotted! Irish eventing team training session

The Irish eventing team did their arena familiarisation and some training this evening in Tokyo. Tomas Holcbecher was on site to capture pictures for The Irish Field

THE eventing competition kicks off on Friday at 8.30am Japanese time (12.30am Friday morning Irish time) with the first dressage session, following that another that evening (9.30am Friday Irish time).

  • Eurosport is showing all equestrian sports
  • The cross-country and show jumping phases will be shown on BBC One and BBC iPlayer (player is available in the UK only)
  • RTÉ2 will show equestrian events, subject to what other Irish athletes are in action. The Irish Field’s Brendan McArdle will head the commentary team for the equestrian coverage for Tokyo. He will be joined by Ciaran Glynn for eventing, and Tom Freyne will be in studio as a guest analyst.
