Horse of the Games –
King Edward

HENRIK von Eckermann’s 11-year-old gelding King Edward (Edward 28 x Feo) is probably most people’s pick of the Tokyo Olympic Games. Phenomenally, the Belgian-bred gelding who is owned by Dufour Stables AG jumped every round clear, including two jump-offs, and was unlucky to finish fourth individually. He became only the third horse in history to keep every rail intact at an Olympic Games, behind All In at Rio in 2016 and Eliot, ridden by Captain Frantisek Ventura for Czech Republic, in Amsterdam 1928, according to EquiRatings.
